Nha Trang Bay
Nha Trang Bay in Khanh Hoa officially became the 29th member of the World's Most Beautiful Bay Club at the 2nd Conference in Tadoussac, Quebec, Canada from June 1st – 8th in 2003. Thus, along with the famous beautiful bays of the world, such as: Rio de Janeiro of Brazil, Vancouver and Tadoussac of Canada, San Francisco of the US, Stockhom of Sweden; Ha Long Bay of Vietnam and others;
 
Nha Trang Bay is one of the world's most beautiful and rare natural landscapes and must be preserved, protected and developed for the benefit of the people. Nha Trang Bay has an area of over 500 Km2 with 19 scattered large and small islands, which is the perfect example of a beautiful and poetic landscape. Hon Tre Island is more than 3 km away from the mainland. It is the largest island, with a length of more than 10 km, and the width is approximately 6 km. From a distance, it looks like a huge crawling crocodile in a deep blue lake. Hon Tre was the revolutionary base of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa in both the French and American wars. In recent years, this island has become an attractive destination for tourism. The 5 star Vinpearl Resort and Spa was opened at the end of 2003 and has attracted many visitors. At this resort, many national and international cultural events, festivals and conferences have been successfully organized.


In addition to Hon Tre, Nha Trang Bay has many islands with different shapes, which create an unforgettable impression for visitors. The islands are varied in the shapes of a swimming turtle, an inkpot and a sail floating in the sea. Hon Yen, Hon Noi and Hon Ngoai islands have many mysterious caves, which are the living place for thousands of canaries. The bird nests are a high value commodity and each kg of bird nest costs 100g of gold. Hon Mun has a variety of coral and sea creatures, which has been selected as the first marine natural museum in Vietnam. Hon Tam and Hon Mieu are famous for their wild landscapes. These are attractive destinations for tourists in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa.
 
 

The average depth of the continental shelf in Vietnam is about 50m. However, with a distance of 70 km from the shore the depth of the Nha Trang beach is over 200m, and at 100km from the shore the depth reaches over 2,000m. Nha Trang Bay contains an area full of diverse seafood, which includes many kinds of precious and high value items such as lobster, abalone, sea cucumber, king crab and sea horse. It also has an enormous potential for biology, ecology and the environment. In 1927, the Institute of Oceanography, one of the prestigious marine scientific research institutions of the region, was established in Nha Trang. The gentle and generous people, together with the fresh air, the wonderful beaches and the landscapes of Nha Trang are sure to attract visitors more than once.
